Beach marathon?

Last Thursday, 17 Feb, the members of my flat (well, just two of us nia), went for a beach marathon - just 3 though. It was about 30mins drive to the first one. Our driver was Miss Phoebe. 

 Seriously, I need to write down the name of the beaches that we went cos' I can't remember the first one!! I just managed to recall the word, ngunguru, tutukaka, matapouri . . .

 I can't read map well which is why I have my best buddy here with me always to light up my path in the dark

 The whole journey was WINDY, varying speed range from 25 to 100. Can you imagine that while we were on the road, driving at 80 then suddenly just about 10km away, the sign board read 35. After about 1-2 minutes, another sign board showed a higher number like 80 and down again after a few minutes. *no joking* 

 Oh we arrived at the second beach and I believe this is Matapouri Beach. Phoebe was adjusting her micro four third *concentrate*

We don't even know the name of this beach at first. Had to ask two people in the car and they told us it was Matapouri. We also inquired if they knew where Whale bay is. Haha, guess what, the four of us just read the map together cos' they were tourists from Europe. I think they were French. 

 Yes! We found it!!!

Whale bay is just like entering another dimension and of course it was not a starightforward path. We had to do a bit of hiking before we could experience the serene and spectacular view

It is an amazing experience and really worth the walk just to reach this beautiful beach. I saw a sweet old couple just strolling along while holding hands. *sweeet*

After this, Phoebe and I were so exhausted. Guess it must be the walk

Life

Today, I just felt like blogging something about life.

I learned the very hard way that once you miss the chance, you lose it completely and there is no way you can get it back, no matter how hard you try. Why do you want to go through all the hassle again if you know clearly you won't get it back? Human being gets tired and after a while, they will give up on pursuing it especially when they know that it is an impossibility. Everything is too late and once you lose something, it is the time you learn to cherish it but then again, it may be too late.

Solution: Put the past behind and starts afresh with new goals in life.

Don't forget to pray. God is always good. He is the only one who will never abandon you.

Asahi Restaurant

Thought I would publish an entry about a Japanese eatery in Whangarei before going to bed - Asahi Sushi. I have to say that this is the first Japanese takeaway in NZ that I have visited so far that offered a variety of choice which reminded me of 'Excapade Sushi' in Brunei. Of course, the options are still limited if you compared it to Excapade. Nonetheless, I am very happy with it. My favourite? TAKOYAKI! Yummmm.

The photos' quality is not that great cos' I used my phone to capture them. Can someone sponsor me a micro four thirds camera? *puppy eyes*

 Had these for lunch one Saturday. They were really delicious especially the TAKOYAKI! Each item cost 2 bucks which I reckon is still reasonable. I will definitely grab at least Takoyaki if I am in Town. Love it too much!

Overgrown

Let it be insect, fruit or any living thing, I find that they are exceptionally huge! No wonder I gained so much here which I reckon is attributable to the living condition in NZ.

 11kg pumpkin. Of course, there are some that are way larger than this. I read in a newspaper that the heaviest and most enormous pumpkin weighs 400++kg

When Vanity strikes

When vanity strikes - This entry is all about me being vain taking photo using my webcam! I am not this vain-la usually. It is just that I went to get a haircut (just trim a bit and cut my fringe shorter) in town this afternoon. I always see photos of before and after effect especially those sliming programme. This gives me the idea I should do the same and post it here as part of my memory xD

While the hairdresser was trimming my hair, I could see a blurry watermelon face of mine. That's why I went to the gym too just now even though I was quite lazy.

One more thing! I si beh eng brought my baby Fit for a check up which I don't need to cos' he is in good condition. The only thing I need to change is the transmission flush. (I am still googling this) but not a biggie. My baby better be nice to me since I have spent quite a lot on him. HEEEE

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! My colleague said valentine is just an exaggeration that cause people to spend more money. Today, one of the staff ran with shyness and joy because she found a huge heart shaped balloon with the word "I love you" in one of the rooms in the pharmacy. Her boyfriend came to put it there. So, what did you receive from your beloved one? As for me, I spent my valentine's day at work from 8.30 till 7! After that, P (my flatmate) and I celebrated this event at Shiraz, an Indian restaurant, which is just 15 minutes from my house by walking. Well, we still go by car! The reason that we chose that place is the special grabone deal where "pay 25 for a 50 buck meal". When we reached there, there was a keyboardist who played sang while playing jazz songs.

The ambience is above average, service is exceptionally good, and food are pretty decent. We ordered butter chicken, beef Korma, Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi. Apart from that, they served us a complimentary snack - papadum while waiting for our food. The friendly staff would come once in a while to check if everything is okay. I can just sit there and indulge myself in the jazz music and singing. He told us he played since he was 9! It is very nice of him to invite us to salut bar as he will be performing on 3rd April at 2 or 3am. I know that the boys in the Gentlemen club would enjoy this *right?*

I am very happy that I work till 6 tomorrow! I will cook ginger beef with onions tomorrow. Heee. Last thing, I am gonna get my haircut tomorrow. Feel excited but scared at the same time that it might turn out really bad. Before going to bed, I want to declare my passion for church. Last Sunday, I finished work at 6pm and evening service starts at 7 so went there after my dinner. When I reached the building, I saw a lot of people coming out so I thought they were just coming out to chit chat for a while. The signboard said "10am and 6pm". I am very happy cos there's night service but when I have finally parked my car nicely, i just reversed because the 6pm struck me! Oh! I missed it.

NOOOO~! My week is NOT over yet! Working starts on Monday and ends on Sunday. Well, my off-days are pretty random which are 2 weekdays and Saturday.
My nightmare has come - start of evolve 'internship' program. Why can't we just skip this and go straight to registration at the end of the year without having the need to sit for any exam or do any assignment. Don't mind the training days if we don't have to do any homeworks, tests etc but just attend classes.

Yesterday, I felt that my room's walls are pretty empty and ugly so I furnished it with some stuff to make it at least homey (Not very homey still but better). Took out all my magical "crafts" I havent quite finished yet. Will just continue when i feel like it. *depends on my my mooood*
