Back with more food photos

I am back to blogging after missing in action for a couple of months. A lot had happened when I was away which have strengthened me a lot in every aspect of my life. Thank you to my sweet boyfriend who is always there to go through all the highs and lows with me (mostly lows though). Thank you hun. Of course, not to forget is my loving family, colleagues and friends. This year is indeed a tough year for me because of one incident happened after another. Despite this, I just have to think positively and be encouraged at all time. The biggest thank goes to the one who is omnipresent - our one and only Heavenly Father. Without Him, I won't be standing here because He gave me strength in all form to fight all the unpleasant events.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"

1 peter 5:10 "But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, restore, establish, strengthen, settle you."

PRAISE THE LORD!
Back to the present. Is it the cold &flu season? So many patients have been coming in to the pharmacy lately for meds. Some of my colleagues are still recovering from it. Great, I strike the lotto too, feeling so shitty with this cold symptoms - headache, sore throat, runny & blocked nose, post nasal drip, pain in the eyes and tickly cough with a bit of phlegm. I can't wait for this working week of mine to be over so I can get a good rest. I really need it. Since I have to work, I have been taking maxigesic which is a combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen, loratadine and gargling salt water. To tell you the truth, I am not a big fan of medicines but for the sake of feeling better at work, I just have to depend on those meds. =(

Anyway, today is the last day where Jen worked on Sunday so we had a feast for her farewell. No, she's not leaving the pharmacy. Every half a year, the interns swap their hours and the time has come for this year's amazing interns.

Enough of words now. Let us look at all the food photos I have here for you all *yum yum*

I forgot to pack lunch one day at work last week. Since there are a couple of restaurants and takeaways and even a supermarket nearby the pharmacy where I work in, I just takeaway a chicken don. I also had miso soup which is too pricey in my opinion, NZ$3.50 for a small cup of miso soup. o_O

Yes! I was in a passionate mood for cooking and baking. Guess what, I don't even mind not working and be a full time housewife. HAHA! This idea probably only lasts for a short while. I enjoy my job and the best thing is earning my own pocket money =) Back to my food! Oh gees, I am so chatty. Not good. I whipped up a main dish and 2 desserts yesterday. I can proudly say I quite like the taste of this beef in blackbean sauce. Of course, it is not masterchef standard >,<

 Beef in blackbean sauce

It took me ages to make this pastry. I could have just bought it but hey, it is for self-satisfaction purpose that I insisted on making my own pastry. They turned out well in my opinion despite the inconsistent looking tarts. I certainly need to get those tin mould for this next time.

One of the few that looks decent

Honey cornflakes

I felt happy when my colleagues said they liked and enjoyed my desserts =) But not sure whether they were speaking the truth or just being polite :) I feel I still have lots of room for improvement. Will definitely do better next time.

This quiche is to die for! Seriously! It is just that good! This kind of heavenly food is not made by me obviously. Thanks to Jen for this mouth watering savoury dish! I will grab recipe from her. So yummy!

Apricot bread loaf made by my amazing and noble Helen mama! She is skilful in baking too, just like Jen. I even had some in my fridge for my afternoon tea tomorrow. It is neither too sweet nor bland. The texture is good and tastes just right.

This is another masterpiece from Helen mama - banana cake with chocolate chips. It is moist and delicious!

Hey Helen mama, you should take part in Chelsea's hottest NZ baker! This scones are perfect! =)

Another dish that is worth mentioning in my blog is Giraffe Ryan's appetizing pork and apple casserole! Seriously,  he can cook! I am impressed and totally impressed with guys who can not only cook but also cook well! I had it with rice. Of course, my boyfriend can cook! I feel very "xinfu" when he cooked for me during his last trip here. =) yum yum

This basically sums up my day at work today. All about food and my tummy is getting bigger and rounder. Think my pant size is going up by one or two now. *burp*

-The End-
